Truly Inverted Nipple are caused by adhesions beneath the nipples that bind the skin to the underlying tissues. About 10 to 20 percent of women have flat or inverted nipples.
Nipple is the projection on the breasts of a mammal by which breast milk is delivered to a mother’s young. And in this sense it is often called teat. Women have different types of nipples like – dark, light, big, small, pointing in or out or appearing flat.
Sometimes for some women nipple stimulation or cold temperature can draw the nipple out temporarily. Female breast turn more sensitive, during arousal they become stiff, erect and protrude. Nipple stimulation is sometimes intense enough to elicit an orgasm in some women.
An inverted nipple is a condition where the nipple is retracted into the breast. Sometimes inverted nipple will be temporarily protruded if stimulated.
If you have inverted nipple don’t say anything about your health. Don’t be upset, you can even breastfeed normally. You need a little patience while you position yourself and the baby can make it easier for the baby to feed.
You can also ask your doctor about special breastfeeding devices such as breast shells, which make it less difficult for the baby to nurse.
Don’t be bothered by how your nipples look. Besides, the only permanent way to change the appearance of your nipples is plastic surgery.
If one or both of your nipples suddenly flatten or turn inward later in life, speak to your doctor about it. A nipple that changes like this can be normal, but it can also be a red signal for certain breast diseases, including Inflammatory breast cancer, a rare type of cancer that involves the nipple and the areola. You should visit your doctor as soon as possible, if you face this type of problems.
